Transcom Beverages Limited, an exclusive PepsiCo franchise in Bangladesh has recently been awarded the “Global Bottler of the Year” for 2016 in recognition of its outstanding business results and performance. The award was announced at PepsiCo’s annual Global Franchise Forum in Italy, Rome recently.
This is the second time that Transcom Beverages has won the award since taking over the bottling operation in 2000. Transcom Beverages also won The International Bottler of the Year award back in 2009.
The Bottler of the Year Award has been part of PepsiCo’s international business for over 25 years. This year the contenders were from amongst the top performing bottlers from each of PepsiCo’s 4 geographic sectors–Asia, Middle East & North Africa (AMENA), Europe Sub-Saharan Africa (ESSA), Latin America (LA) and North America Beverages (NAB).
Ms. Indra Nooyi, Chairman & CEO, PepsiCo handed over the trophy to Latifur Rahman, Chairman, Transcom. Among others, Sanjeev Chadha, CEO, PepsiCo Asia, Middle East and North Africa; Eugene Willemsen, Executive Vice President, Global Categories & Franchise Management, PepsiCo; Andy Williams , President, PepsiCo Global Franchise; Vipul Prakash- Sr. Vice President Beverage Category, PepsiCo India; Manish Muley, Country Manager, PepsiCo Bangladesh and from Transcom, Directors Shahnaz Rahman, Simeen Hossain; Arshad Waliur Rahman, MD & CEO, Golam Quddus Chowdhury; Deputy Managing Director, Khurshid Irfan Chowdhury; Zaraif Ayaat Hossain, Manager, Transcom Consumer Products were present at a colorful ceremony at Hotel Sheraton in Rome, Italy, on 22nd June 2017.
PepsiCo’s business in Bangladesh has been delivering solid results and leading the soft drinks market in Bangladesh over the past few years, with 7UP being recognized as the Best Beverage Brand for seven years in a row by the Bangladesh Brand Forum. Transcom Beverages has also won “Bottler of the Year” award in the PepsiCo India Region for 6 years.

Mr. Latifur Rahman, Chairman, Transcom in his acceptance speech dedicated this award to the memory of his grandson, Faraaz Ayaaz Hossain who made the ultimate sacrifice while refusing to abandon his friends during the Holey Artisan terrorist attack at Dhaka on 1st July 2016.
